District 5: Central

From the steep hills of Clarendon and Ashbury Heights to the flatlands of the Mission and Noe Valley, the neighborhoods in the Central district maintain a strong, separate sense of identity. As usual, the priciest homes are hillside with commanding views. Neighborhood shopping is found near most subdistricts and includes: The Castro (Castro Street between 19th & Market), Market Street, 24th Street (Noe Valley), Cole Street (in Cole Valley which is part of Parnassus Heights/Ashbury Heights on the map) and Haight St.
